The Lilongwe Magistrate Court has adjourned to Friday a bail ruling in a case involving former Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) Chief Executive Officer Collins Magalasi and two others.

The law enforcers arrested Magalasi together with MERA Spokesperson Patrick Maulidi and Dorothy Shonga.

The three appeared in court on Wednesday where they were charged with three counts, fraud, money laundering and interference with the procurement act.

The three through their lawyer then applied for bail and Chief Resident Magistrate Violet Chipao has adjourning the ruling to Friday July, 31.2020.

The development means the three will spend two more days in police cell.
