Balaka North Independent Member of Parliament Anthony Ngalande has joined Malawi Congress Party (MCP), the party which is in Tonse Alliance led by Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
MCP Vice President Muhammad Sidik Mia welcomed the MP into the party on Sunday afternoon.
Mia also welcomed to the MCP, Counsellor Steve Michael Sauka of Nkhonde Ward of Balaka Central East, Counsellor Joseph Daniel of Chimwalire Ward Balaka South and Counsellor Byson Gombwa of Utale Ward south.
Since Tonse Alliance won the fresh polls on June 23, 2020, members of the opposition have been defecting to the ruling party.
Meanwhile political analysts have warned to the ruling party not to accept some of the people, saying they are fortune seekers.
