President Lazarus Chakwera has been proposed as the one to take over the SADC Chairperson slot in 2021.

This was disclosed during the 40th ordinary SADC summit

The grouping just elected at its meeting Mozambique’s President Filipe Nyusi as the new Chairperson,taking over from President John Magufuli of Tanzania.

The theme of the summit is “40 Years Building Peace and Security and Promoting Development and Resilience in the Face of Global Challenges”.

Meanwhile, Malawi is expected to host the 41st ordinary SADC summit In August 2021.
