Members of the United Democratic Front (UDF) breakaway group led by Friday Jumbe have formed a ndw party called Labour.
Addressing the press in Blantyre on Tuesday, Jumbe said they reached the decission after looking at various options. “We thought of joining another party but saw it not a good option,” he said.

The party’s facilitator Ziliro Chibambo said the party will be very democratic. “We will be open to any view, anyone will be free to contest in an position,” he said.

Jumbe, who was until last week a UDF chairperson, stood away from the party’s convention which elected Atupele Muluzi as its new Chair.
