President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has reinstated General Vincent Nundwe as Commander of the Malawi Defence Force with immediate effect.

Nundwe was fired by former President Peter Mutharika for ‘allowing the men in uniform to protect demonstrators protesting the results of last year’s elections.’

According to Chakwera, Nundwe has been redeployed as Commander of MDF with immediate effect to reverse injustice to the whole military.
