Minister of Civic Education and National Unity Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo has congratulated General Vincent Nundwe for his re-appointment as Commander of the Malawi Defence Force (MDF).
State President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera re-instated Nundwe today through an address monitored on state controlled Malawi Broadcasting Station (MBC).
writing on his official facebook page, Mtambo who once served as Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) Chairperson said Nundwe deserved re-in-statement.
“The peoples’ General is back. Congratulations Comrade!!” wrote Mtambo.
Former President Peter Mutharika fired Nundwe for allowing Malawians to peacefully protest against his fraudulent elections on May 21, 2019.
Nundwe’s firing attracted mixed reactions with many describing it as political.
