President of Association of Person Living with Albinism in Malawi (APAM) Ian Simbota has called on government to fire and replace Dr. Heatherwick Ntaba from Chairing the presidential Committee on Albinism.

Simbota made the call in a statement made available to this publication.

According to Simbota during the tenure of Dr. Ntaba people living with albinism never benefited anything.

Simbota further pointed out that there are people with albinism who are in great pain because of skin cancer and that they have been referred outside the country for treatment but they are still waiting for the day government will respond positively.

For the reason, Simbota asked government to treat issues regarding people living with albinism with urgency.

Simbota was quick to point out the positive developments already put in place ensuring the safety of people with albinism

“We have already started celebrating the positive fruits from the new leadership, public Appointments like that of Mr Overstone Kondowe as Presidential Advisor on Disability Issues,” Simbota said.
