The Delhi Police arrested a doctor and his associate forging COVID-19 test reports from reputed labs to clear medical assessment for nursing jobs. Dr Kush B Parashar and his associate Amit Singh used to make forged COVID test report of any renowned diagnostic centre or labs as desired by the patients.

According to Delhi Police, Parashar admitted that he had forged the COVID reports of many diagnostic centres such as CRL Diagnostics Lab, Modern Diagnostics & Research Centre, Dr P.Bhasin Pathlabs (P) Ltd. and Prognosis Laboratories.

The Hauz Khas police station registered an FIR on the complaint of a man who was running the business of providing nursing staff to patients. The complainant stated that he had approached Dr. Kush Parashar for COVID testing of his two nursing staff before hiring them. The complainant later received a report on PDF format which he sent to the employer.

Seeing the mistake in name, his client contacted the Diagnostic Centre and asked for the new report with correction, which wasn’t available with the Diagnostic centre because the patient had never visited the lab.

During the course of investigation, it came to fore that the accused used to collect the sample of the patients himself or by his assistant and throw it without sending it to the labs. And with the help of his co-accused Amit Singh, they made forged COVID test report in the name of the renowned diagnostic centre and share it in PDF format.

“As the reports were prepared in PDF format on computer and same were sent to patients on WhatsApp, so it was difficult to differentiate between the forged and the genuine report,” said Atul Thakur, DCP, South.

Parashar, an MD Physician who got his degree from Russia, has been arrested in the present case along with his associate Amit Singh.
