Schools in the country, officially open today with government expressing satisfaction with the state of preparedness for the reopening which has come after five months
All education institutions were sealed in March as a preventative measure against the spread of Covid-19.
But the Ministry of education says it is impressed with the preparedness of schools as they will be reopening tomorrow.
According to Chikondano Mussa, principal secretary in the ministry of education, they are hopeful all schools have the capacity to open now as measures have been monitored by government.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the country has registered three new Covid-19 cases, no new recoveries, and no new deaths.
All new cases which involve Two Mozambican truck drivers and one Malawian driver were identified at the Mwanza border during routine screening.
This now means that in total, the country has recorded 5,614 cases including hundred and seventy five deaths.
Of these cases, 1,133 are imported infections and 4,481 are locally transmitted.
So far, 3,551 have now recovered bringing the total number of active cases to 1,888.
