President Lazarus Chakwera has responded to leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa’s allegations that his (Chakwera’s) administration moved Principle Secretaries for being Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) sympathizers.

When appearing before parliament today president Chakwera wondered when did principle secretaries become partisan?

Chakwera further added that principle secretaries are supposed to be civil servants but if there are some who claim to be DPP members, he (Chakwera) challenged Nankhumwa to bring their names.

He continued that any arrests that have been made since the Tonse Alliance ascend into power have nothing to do with Him or his vice Saulos Chilima for the two do no interfere with the work of te law enforcers.

Chakwera says Nankhumwa is wrong to claim that DPP officials are being arrested as a result of political witch-hunting.

He said Nankhumwa made the remark because his party (DPP) is seeing the agencies enjoy independence that they were denied.
