State President Lazarus Chakwera has hailed Edgar Lungu President of Zambia for the warm welcome he received as he is visiting the Neighboring the country.
Writing on his Facebook page Chakwera who referred Lungu as his brother said the gesture has reaffirmed his decision to do his first foreign trip in Zambia.
“I am very grateful to my brother President Edgar Chagwa Lungu of Zambia for the warm reception he has given me on my visit today,” Chakwera said.
Upon arrival, Chakwera inspected the guard of honour which was mounted by the Zambian Military.
The Malawi’s first citizen further visited Zambia’s Hero acre where he laid wreaths and give respect to the late Zambian presidents Levy Mwanawasa, Fredrick Chiluba and Michael Sata.
Meanwhile, the two leaders are in a meeting at Zambia’s State House.
The Malawi leader is making a day visit to Zambia which is aimed at strengthening the relationship the two countries has.
