Citizen for Transformation (CFT), a political grouping formed by Minister of Civic Education and National Unity Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo has endorsed Malawi Congress Party (MCP) candidate Leonard Mwalwanda in Karonga Central by-election.
Mwalwanda, a son to late Dr. Cornelius Mwalwanda, former MP for the Constituency will face Frank Tumpale Mwenefundo who recently dumped Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) and joined United Transformation Movement (UTM) under Dr. Saulos Chilima.
CFT’s endorsement has been confirmed in a MEMO signed by the grouping National Publicity Secretary Chimwemwe Maunde dated September 20, 2020 made available to this publication.
According to Maunde, the grouping has endorsed Mwalwanda considering the fact that the people of Karonga previously gave a five years mandate to MCP candidate.
