A motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries after he collided with a motor vehicle, VW Saloon, registration number BX 8621.

Lilongwe Police Station Deputy Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Foster Benjamin, confirmed saying the cyclist, Richard Simeon, 26, crashed into the vehicle on Saturday at Mitengo Village along the bypass road in Lilongwe.

Benjamin said Simeon was joining the main road when he slammed into the saloon, which was being driven by 35-year-old Patrick Masala.

Following the impact, the motorcyclist sustained severe head injuries and fracture on the right leg.

Meanwhile, Simeon is receiving treatment at Kamuzu Central Hospital.

Police are warning road users to adhere to traffic rules to avoid accidents.
