Center For Democracy and Economic Development (CDEDI) has assured the general public that it will monitor closely the newly appointed board members to ensure that are serving Malawians.

On Wednesday, President Lazarus Chakwera announced names of board members of parastatal institutions in the country.

“CDEDI is assuring Malawians that it won’t blink, not even a second in ensuring that those in public offices serve Malawians and not their political masters,” reads part of the statement.

CDEDI has also challenged the newly appointees to serve Malawians diligently and at the same time they should respect the existing laws and regulations governing specific institutions they have been assigned to serve.

“It is our hope that gone are the days when such appointments of board members were a thank you to the appointees for having served their respective political parties well,” reads part of the statement.
