Kenyan police in Langata have arrested a 15-year-old girl for allegedly stabbing to death her 19-year-old boyfriend.
Lang’ata sub-county Police commander Gregory Mutiso confirmed the incident and said that the girl was to be interrogated to establish what transpired.
According to witnesses, the girl stabbed the form two student twice in the chest after they had a quarrel before hearing screams, and on checking they found the boy on the ground with blood all over his body. The mother of the Standard six pupil says she was not aware of her daughter was and was yet to come to terms with the incident.
Attempts to save the Form two student were futile as he was pronounced dead on arrival at St Mary’s Hospital, Langata.
The conutry’s National Council on Administration of Justice raised alarm on the rise of domestic violence and sexual offences in the country noting in its report that in some cases the perpetrators are close relatives.
According to government data, 45 per cent of women and girls aged 15 to 49 have experienced physical violence and 14 per cent have experienced sexual violence.
