Youths in Lilongwe came out in large numbers to battle it out and show their swag in the Sprite regional competition, a creation of Carlsberg Malawi Limited on Saturday.

After successfully selecting regional winners in Blantyre, it was now the turn of Lilongwe and at the end of the battle, the winners in the disc jockeying category were DJ Classic who came third and got K50,000, DJ Stunner was second and got K75,000 with DJ Maya on position one receiving K100,000.

In the dancing category Mighty Makers were third receiving K50,000, IDC on second pocketing K75,000 while Thabo Chawinga was top receiving K100,000.

In the rap category, Charlie Brown was third receiving K50,000, Oracle on second pocketing K75,000 with Marvin Hanke Junior on first position receiving K100,000.

Carlsberg Malawi Senior Brands Manager responsible for Non-Alcoholic Beverages Brenda Chilima said the aim of the competition is to unearth talent.

Chilima said they have invested close to K10 million in the event.

The competition which had celebrity judges of Young Kay, Piksy, Tapps Bandawe and DJ Drew goes to Mzuzu next week before the grand finale featuring the winners in all the categories in the three regions on December 16.
