Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for Central Region Uladi Mussa has expressed interest to contest for the party’s presidency at the convention.

Mussa said this during a post-election healing session organised by Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD) currently underway at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre.

The development means four DPP top officials namely; Kondwani Nankhumwa, DPP Vice President for the South who is also leader of opposition, Bright Msaka, George Chaponda are all vying for the Presidency post.

DPP is currently locked in leadership crisis with a certain group calling for President Peter Mutharika’s resignation.

The development has led to the firing some top officials led by the party’s Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey.

The grouping has since obtained an injunction restraining execution of the order.
