Singer Rihanna is under fire for disrespecting the Islamic religion, after she used a song containing a Hadith for her lingerie show.

Rihanna latest Savage X Fenty fashion show debuted on Amazon Prime last week, however a lot of people were not pleased with the inclusion of the Hadith.

Her models strutted down the catwalk to the song ‘Doom’ by London-based producer Coucou Chloe, which contains an Islamic hadith.

According to the online dictionary a Hadith is record of the traditions or sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, revered and received as a major source of religious law and moral guidance, second only to the authority of the Qurʾān, the holy book of Islam.

The hadith which was used in the song is that of Prophet Muhammed explaining signs of the day of judgement and the end of times.

A lot of fans on Twitter expressed their disappointment with Rihanna.

Here are some of the comments.

“Tbh I’m really disappointed to see everyone ignoring what happened with Rihanna Like just because according to you she’s a “Kween” doesn’t mean she can’t do harm, and what she did was really disrespectful to Muslims. Rihanna made a whack decision on this one… She’s big but not bigger than any religion”

“Quiet about Rihanna using hadith in a recent song. You are disrespectful, and on behalf of Muslims around the world, WE WANT THE SONG REMOVED. WE WANT AN APOLOGY. This should not be taken lightly.!”

“Rihanna better apologize.using islamic hadith as background music, and hijabs as fashion accessories is NOT okay. you can’t let her away with this just because she’s rihanna. stop normalizing disrespecting islam.my religion is not your aesthetics”

Rihanna who is reportedly working on her new album, after 4 years is yet to release a statement on the matter.
