President Lazarus Chakwera has said he is eagerly waiting to receive the petition form women who protested last week against his appointment of board of members for parastatals.
Executive Assistant to the president Sean Kampondeni said this during the weekly press briefing at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.
Kampondeni further added that Chakwera has not yet received the petition as it was not directly directed to his office.
According to Kampondeni, Chakwera would like to see Malawians expressing displeasure where things are not working as one way of promoting change.
The President according to Kampondeni is nonetheless glad that CSOs can protest against his government.
The development shows that everyone can exercise their constitutional rights.
Last week on Friday women took to the street protesting against Chakwera’s decision to appoint few women in the board of parastatals.
