The Anti Motor Vehicle Theft Unit in Lilongwe has arrested seven suspects, recovered six stolen vehicles, one motorcycle, motor engines and spare parts.
The recovered cars include a Toyota Passo, Mazda Demio, Suzuki Every Van, Nissan Clipper, Nissan Sienta and Daihatsu Mira.
In addition, there are dismantled engines of a Daihatsu Move and Daihatsu Mira, a Toyota Pixies Epoch and two Sientas.
There has been a spate of car robberies within the city. The Anti-motor vehicle theft team invaded Area 36 and Area 23, and went as far as Dedza in pursuit of the criminals.
The culprits are appearing in Court answering a case of robbery involving motor vehicles.
