Monday,December 17 2012, will remain a dark day for Litchapa family of Mbayani Township in Blantyre as the downpour in the city washed away two of their children. Blessings 10, and the five year old Yona, were playing outside their house in the afternoon when it started raining heavily. The parents believe Yona tripped into a drainage that pours into Likhubula Stream in the township, about 50 metres from the house. And for the love of his little brother, the father Lovemore Litchapa, 34, said Blessings attempted to rescue him, but he too, fell into the death trap that cruelly swallowed the two little lives.
