Stakeholders championing the fight against attacks on persons with albinism have disclosed plans to carry out a study on the status of human rights in the country.
This comes as the country continues to register cases of abuses and attacks of persons with Albinism with the recent case being the exhuming of a body of a person with Albinism in Ntcheu last week.
According to CCJP National Coordinator Boniface Chibwana, the study follows an observation that persons with albinism continue to face challenges in accessing justice and health care services.
The study will commence in November and will be carried out in Zomba and Machinga.
Since 2014, there have been cases of attacks, abduction and killings of albinos in Malawi in the wake of rise of superstitions that albino body parts are used to make people successful and rich as assisted by witch doctors.
It is alleged that most tradition doctors demanding this come from Mozambique although the government there has declined of that connection.
