Former President Peter Mutharika is today meeting Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) District Governors for the South, faceofmalawi can reveal.
The meeting is being held at his private home in the Eastern District of Mangochi.
Some of the notable faces present at the meeting are former Minister of Finance and Economic Development Joseph Mwanamvekha, Samuel Tembenu, former Minister of Justice just to mention but a few.
The meeting comes barely two weeks after Mutharika held an audience with journalists from various media houses where he hinted that he is not call for convention anytime soon.
Mutharika also hinted that he will resign from the party once the new leader to replace him is elected at the party convention.
DPP is currently in leadership crisis as other top officials led by DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa are calling for an emergency convention.
The call angered Mutharika who resorted in firing Nankhumwa and DPP Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey.
But Nankhumwa and others obtained an injunction on the matter.
Meanwhile it is not known as to when the party will call for convention.
