Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that some form four students across the country have taken to the street to protest the cancellation of this year’s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations due to wide spread irregularities.
Minister of Education Science and Technology (MoEST) Agnes Nyalonje together with officials from Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) announced the cancellation of the examination on Wednesday in the capital Lilongwe.
Nyalonje cited leakage of various papers as the main reason for the cancellation.
She said the examination will be re-taken in 2021 starting from March 9.
The announcement has attracted anger from the students and some have taken to the street asking the Tonse Alliance government led by Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to rescind its decision on the matter.

The students are heading towards Mzuzu City council.
In Lilongwe, students from Bwaila Secondary School have also invaded the street petting stones at vehicles.
Students from Chiwoko Secondary School have also joined the protest chanting against the decision to halt the examinations.
