Self-styled prophet Shepherd Bushiri has thanked people for the support they rendered to him when he was in prison together with his wife Prophetess Mary Bushiri where they were detained over fraud and money laundering charges.
Bushiri made the acknowledgements through his official Facebook immediately after he and his wife were granted bail yesterday by the South African magistrate court.
“Thank you all Bishops, Apostles, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers and all ministers of the gospel all over the world; for all your prayers and support for the past fifteen days we were in custody,” Bushiri said.
He further added that he is indebted to acknowledge messages from different people through prayer sermons, social media posts wishing him and his wife well when he was in prison.
He further thanked the family of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) for standing by his side all along “for your relentless love, prayers and physical support,”
Bushiri and his wife have spent 15 days in custody as they were arrested by the HAWKs in the rainbow nation.
The couple, apart from being accused of fraud and money laundering, the South African government is also questioning how the couple managed to have a permanent residency.
It has also been revealed that Bushiri has four passports including of the neighboring country Zambia.
The couple has been released on bail after paying a surety amounting to K20 million and has been ordered not to leave South Africa and not to refer the case in his church when preaching.
