Former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is currently hold a meeting with Democratic Progressive party (DPP) District Governors for Central Region, faceofmalawi can reveal.

The meeting is being held at Mutharika’s retirement home in the Eastern District of Mangochi.

The meeting comes barely a week after another meeting with district governors from Eastern Region led by Bright Msaka.

According to information at hand, the meeting is aimed at strategizing on how to rebuild the party after losing the fresh Presidential polls held on June 23, 2020.

Since the loss, DPP has been sailing through troubled waters as other top official led by the Party’s Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa are calling for an early convention.

The call saw Nankhumwa and four other top officials being fired from the party but they obtained at injunction on the matter.

Meanwhile the case is scheduled to return in court this week.
