Minister of Civil Education and National Unity, Timothy Mtambo, has today laid a wreath at Late Chakufwa Chihana’s grave at Katoto in Mzuzu.

Mtambo’s gesture comes barely months after it emerged that thieves invaded Chihana’s grave with an ill motive.

Speaking after laying the wreath, Mtambo said he has done that as an honour to Chihana, who was a freedom fighter.

On his part Kinnear Mlowoka representative of the Civil Society Organisations asked government to construct a mausoleum for freedom fighters in the country, saying it is one way of honouring them.

Mtambo was accompanied by Mayor for Mzuzu City Kondwani Brian Nyasulu, Livingstonia synod pastors, Civil Society Organisations leaders among others.
