Over 600,000 beneficiaries of the, now struggling Affordable Inputs program have been removed from the original 4.2 million farming households targeted.
Principal Secretary for Agriculture, Erica Maganga, says this follows a clean-up exercise in the system which discovered ghost beneficiaries and duplications.
This is happening at a time findings show continued flows in the implementation of the program.
Meanwhile, chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Sameer Suleman has pleaded with President Lazarus Chakwera to haste to intervene lest the whole thing flops.
