The Malawi Police Service (MPS) has warned motorists for driving unregistered vehicles, saying the resurgence of motor vehicles without registration numbers is “posing a security threat to the country.”
MPS national publicist James Kadadzera said this in a press statement made available to Face of Malawi.
Kadadzera further added that driving a vehicle without registration number is not condoned.
“Driving a motor vehicle without a registration number is an offence punishable by law,” Kadadzera said.
He added that “in the wake of continued abduction and killings of people with albinism, and drug trafficking, the country cannot afford to have unregistered vehicles plying on the roads of Malawi.”
