The Lilongwe Magistrate Court has adjourned a fake certificate case involving bodyguard of former President Professor Peter Mutharika, Norman Chisale to December 17, 2020.

The adjournment follows a plea by the lawyers for the state indicating that the three remaining state witnesses are not readily present.

The Chisale certificate case was scheduled to go on till sunset as Senior Resident Magistrate Shyreen Yona Chirwa earlier hinted that she has all the time for the witnesses to be paraded.

Earlier in the day, the state paraded three witnesses including the suspended Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) Gerald Chiunda.

In his testimony Chiunda revealed that Chisale failed the Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examination.

He said records show that Paulosi Chisale sat for Junior Certificate Education (JCE) in 1995 and failed.

Some of the grades he obtained are Bible Knowledge F, English F, Geography F, Chichewa D.

Pythias Hiwa sat JCE in the same year at the same school with Chisale and passed.
