Reports reaching this publication indicate that a woman has died in Dedza as she tried to buy fertilizer at Chimbiya Depot in the district today.
Te woman has been identified as Shyreen Kamtameni.
In-Charge of Chimbiya Medical Clinic, John Nkhoma, says the woman was brought to the clinic deceased.
Nkhoma says cause of death will only be known after postmortem.
However, an eye-witness, chairperson of Kuntekera Village Development Committee, Alex Moffat, says, before collapsing, the woman had complained of hunger.
Apparently she spent ages on the line to buy the fertilizer.
Since the Affordable Input Subsidy Program came into form it has been faulted by a number of stakeholder as most people are spending ages to buy the cheap fertilizer due to network glitches.
However government officials have said they are putting in much efforts to ensure that people are easily accessing the service.
