President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will today commission the construction of 10,000 houses for security institutions in the country, the Office of the President and Cabinet said in a statement.

The ceremony will be held at Karonga community ground in Traditional Authority Kyungu in the district.

The Malawi leader is expected to arrive at the venue at 10 am.

During the campaign trail, the Tonse Alliance deplored the poor state of houses for security institutions in the country and promised to effect change once voted in power.

Then tomorrow, President Chakwera will officially launch the 2020/21 National Forestry Season at Tukombo Primary School in Nkhatabay.
