Inkosi Chindi of Mzimba has spent a night in police cell for allegedly damaging property belonging to a Mr. Chikwawa.
The Chief is expected to appear before Mzimba Senior Resident Magistrate Court to answer charges of malicious damage and arson.
Mzimba Police spokesperson Sub-Inspector John Nyirongo said Inkosi Chindi is alleged to have committed the offence in January this year at Euthini trade center.
His alleged accomplice is also on remand.
