The Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) in conjunction with the Ministry of Education Science and Technology has released examination results for the 2020 Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE).

Minister of Education Agnes Nyalonje announced this during a media briefing held in the capital Lilongwe.

“Out of 277, 007 candidates who sat for the PSLCE exams in 2020, 225, 387 candidates have passed the examinations. This represents 81.37 percent pass rate,” said Nyalonje.

According to the Minister, out of 141, 529 male candidates that sat for the exams in 2020, 120, 606 candidates have passed the examinations, representing 85.22 percent pass rate.

Nyalonje further said that out of 135 478 female candidates who sat for the PSLCE examination, 104, 781 have passed representing 77.34 percent

She also disclosed that out of 225 387 learners that have passed the PSLCE examinations, only 84 987 learners have been selected to public secondary schools due to limited space.
