Police at Mponela in Dowa have arrested 10 bar operators for allegedly failing to comply with Covid-19 preventive measures.
Central East Police Region spokesperson Inspector Harry Namwaza says the 10 were arrested last night when police were on a special patrol monitoring all drinking joints to ensure that operators are adhering to Covid-19 preventive measures and regulations put in place by government in a quest to fight the spread of the Coronavirus.
Namwaza says the suspects were found selling beer beyond the time limit of 20:00 hours when all drinking joints were supposed to be closed.
