President Lazarus Chakwera has expressed sadness following the passing of Geoffrey Kachale Banda, first son to former Head of State Dr. Joyce Banda.
Geoffrey, died yesterday of Covid-19 at Bingu National Stadium Isolation Centre where he was receiving treatment.
Chakwera said together with the First Lady, Madam Monica Chakwera are mourning the death of Geoffrey.
“My heart goes out to the former President Dr. Joyce Banda and her husband Retired Chief Justice Richard Banda on the passing of the son, Geoffrey Kachale Banda,” he said.
“The First Lady, Madam Monica Chakwera and I are mourning with the family and remembering them in prayers during this difficult time,” he added.
Geoffrey has been laid to rest today in Lilongwe at Area 18 Cemetry.
