A 12 year old girl has been found hanging in a Soya garden in Mponela, Dowa, police have confirmed.

According to Mponela Police Spokesperson, Kaitano Lubrino, the body of the girl was found by children who were playing in the garden.

The girl was a Standard 6 learner at Mtapo Primary School in Mponela, Dowa.

Lubrino, said they suspect, Dorothy Boniface, hang herself angry that her mother refused to share a cup of tea bought from a nearby tearoom.

The mother was apparently punishing the girl for failure to prepare porridge for a little sibling while the mother was away.
