Chief executive officer for the National Food Reserve Agency (NFRA) Nasinuku Saukira alongside the director of finance Peter Salamba have been suspended over the utilization of K611 million intended for procurement of maize without the authority of the line ministry or the board.
Two separate letters of suspension, which we have seen, signed by NFRA Board Chairperson Dennis Kalekeni, who has also confirmed about the same, indicate that the two will be on full pay as they await disciplinary hearing at a date to be communicated later.
The two are also accused of procuring services from a garage that was not prequalified.
“The board having considered the seriousness of the highlighted matters, hereby unanimously suspend you from duties with immediate effect” reads the letter to the CEO which has the same content as the one sent to the director of finance.
