Anold Kadzanja on Wednesday beat eight other contestants to emerge winner of Ntchisi North Malawi Congress Party (MCP) primary elections with 304 votes.

Kadzanja was followed by Bonface Kadzamira who got 255 votes.

This then means that Kadzanja will represent MCP in the forthcoming Parliamentary by-elections slated to take place on March 30 in seven constituencies across the country.

The by-elections will be conducted by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) led by Dr. Chifundo Kachale.

In a related development, MCP has postponed primary polls in Karonga for the second time and the polls will now be held on Friday, 5 March 2021.

The reasons for the postponement is not yet known at the moment.
