A two-year-old girl has been found dead in a dam after she was reported missing.

Ruby, a 2-year-old girl who was reported missing from a rural property in Queensland, was found dead in a nearby dam.

The child’s lifeless body was found by emergency crews. She was last seen playing with her family’s dogs on Monday at around 3:30 p.m. in Tara, Western Downs, Daily Mail reveals.

According to police reports, the girl’s body was found on the 1500ha Males Road property at about 1:00 a.m. the following day. Reportedly, no suspicious circumstances were surrounding the discovery.

As per the Courier-Mail, Ruby was allegedly missing for between half an hour to an hour by the time her family contacted the police. After officers arrived at the scene about midnight on Tuesday morning, they immediately began searching for the child. Police divers and SES crews investigated the area using thermal technology.

Sky Gulliver, Ruby’s mother, had previously urged a heartbreaking plea for her little girl to be returned home:

“I just want my little girl home where she is safe. It’s killing me to know she is out there away from her parents that love her so much.”

Tragically, the toddler was found dead in a nearby dam. Following Ruby’s death, a report is about to be prepared for the coroner.
