Ireland has suspended the ongoing AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine after new reports of serious blood clotting events in adults who received the vaccine.

The government of Ireland announced about the suspension on Sunday morning.

“The Nation Immunization Advisory Committee has recommended that the administration of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine be temporarily deferred following a report from Norwegian Medicines Agency of four new reports of serious blood clotting,” Said the Ireland Government in a statement.

Few weeks ago South Africa also temporarily suspected AstraZeneca Covid-19 on allegations that the vaccine was not suitable for the country.
