Govt to train motorcycle taxi operators

Minister of Homeland Security, Richard Chimwendo Banda, has said the Ministry of Transport will facilitate training of motorcycle taxi operators and certify their bikes across the country.
Chimwendo Banda said this during Parliamentary deliberations in the capital Lilongwe
He said the trainings will be done at Traditional Authority headquarters at a reduced fee than what it costs at the moment.
Banda has told the House that the riders will be given a Class A licence.
He said this will be done to allow the operators continue with their business while protecting lives.
