Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has urged people in the country to get vaccinated as the exercise has entered the second phase.

Writing on their official Facebook page, HRDC said to be vaccinated is one of the best ways to protect oneself from the deadly global pandemic, Coronavirus.

“Your best protection from COVID-19 will be a combination of getting a COVID-19 vaccine, wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet away from others, avoiding crowds, and washing your hands often. No one tool alone is going to stop the pandemic,” read the statement.

Gift Trapence HRDC chairperson has today received his first jab of the vaccine in the capital Lilongwe in which civil servants are also receiving the vaccine.

Two weeks ago, President Lazarus Chakwera and his vice Saulos Chilima launched the vaccine roll out in which they were the first people to get the jab.
