The authorities have expressed optimistic they will meet deadline for construction of Neno integrated Youth Centre.

This comes barely two months after Minister of Youth and Sports, Ulemu Msungama expressed displeasure with the slow progress of the project.

Manager for the Centre, Hope Mwafulirwa says the facility which will impact skills agribusiness; poultry and ICT will be ready by June this year.

‘’After the minister’s concern we have seen tremendous effort by the contractor. They are almost at roofing level. This is encouraging, through that, job creation under the jobs for youth initiative will be achieved,’’ he said.

Meanwhile the project was at foundation stage at a time of the minister’s visit.

Mangalasi Construction Company Managing partner, Lum Gumbo, attributed the delay to power challenges.

‘’The issue which was delaying us was sorted out. We will finish this work the coming June,’’ said Gumbo.
