A 2 year old albino boy has been abducted by unknown assailants in Chikwawa District.
Association of Persons with Albinism (APAM) President Ian Simbota has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook page.
According to Simbota, the unknown suspects allegedly kidnapped the baby while its mother was asleep.
“As we await for government to act on its promises on people with Albinism,as we wait for the Tonse administration to act differently to DPP in terms of our safety; one of our members in Chikwawa was abducted this morning.
“The victim; a 2 year old boy from GVH Tulusida in TA Ngabu has been taken from her mother when they were both sleeping in the wee hours of today.
We have currently joined the police in a manhunt with questions in our minds: Will Tonse administration’s promises on our safety await COVID as they have been telling us?” wrote Simbota.
Meanwhile the police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
