President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is today expected to name a new Cabinet replacing the current team which has 32 members.

Presidential Press Secretary, Brian Banda confirmed of the development during a Weekly Briefing held on Monday at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe.

Chances are high that some members of the current Cabinet will be dropped and new faces will be lopped in.

The new Cabinet follows a performance assessment of Chakwera’s current Cabinet carried out by him and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima earlier this month.

Meanwhile political analyst George Phiri has urged President Lazarus Chakwera to publicise the performance assessment of his cabinet before naming his new ministers.
