Bob Khamisa, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) deputy National Director of Research has been released on police bail.

Khamisa was arrested last night in Mulanje for allegedly challenging police on wearing face mask which is mandatory in the country.

National Police spokesperson James Kadadzera confirmed of the release of Khamisa.

According to Kadadzera, Khamisa is being charged with two counts which is likely to cause breach of peace and contravening Covid-19 guidelines and regulations.

Kadadzera says Khamisa will appear in court once police conclude their investigations.
