A 95 year old man, Medisoni Ndolo, has died after drowning in Chipanje River in Dowa District.
Mponela Police publicist, Kaitano Lubrino, said the incident happened yesterday.
Kaitano said the deceased’s daughter, Enelesia Medisoni, told Police that her father left home on Tuesday March 30, 2021 for a drinking spree at Mwalam’manja Village but did not return home until the following day when he was found dead by some primary school leaners from Kamonga Primary School.
Autopsy results indicate that Medisoni died due to suffocation secondary to drowning.
The deceased hailed from Traditional Authority Chakhaza’s area in the district.
