The Lilongwe-based woman entrepreneur Towera Jalakasi has emerged as the K10 million winner of the Standard Bank Best Business Pitch for Women on the Rise Master Business class.

Early march Standard Bank launched a month-long series of interactive online seminars for women entrepreneurs as part of commemorating this year’s International Women’s Day which falls on 8th March.

Throughout the seminars, these women entrepreneurs from all fields in development were skilled for survival and new ideas in the work of the Covid 19 pandemic.

At the end of the one-month training, the women were challenged to pitch business ideas out of which one was to qualify for a K10 million business capital.

Wednesday morning Mrs. Jalakasi emerged winner of this K10 million package after pitching her business idea to boost her already existing business after competing with seven other women in the various businesses.

Jalakasi who is also a manager for Naturals Limited well known for “Khathikhati Malambe Juices” has since commended the initiatives aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs surviving business in the work of Covid 19.

However, Jalakasi has pledged to use the money to fulfill her new ideas to make her business grow in the work of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, when launching the initiative, the Head of Marketing at Standard Bank Thoko Unyolo reiterated the bank’s commitment to continue covering up women entrepreneurs in the country in their businesses in the work of the Covid 19 pandemic.
