Police in Mzimba are keeping in custody two men for allegedly being found with 241 planks of Timber valued at 1.5 million Malawi Kwacha.
Mzimba police deputy spokesperson John Nyirongo confirmed the development adding that the two were arrested inside Luwawa forest.
Nyirongo identified the two as William M’baya aged 32 and Derrick Mwangomba driver of a 15 tonner Tata registration number KU 6220 belonging to Shayona cement which was ferrying the timber.
Nyirongo said the timber belongs to AKL timbers.
